The practice

The five rhythms (in order) are Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness. The 5Rhythms, when danced in sequence, are known as a "Wave." A typical Wave takes about an hour to dance.

How to do 5Rhythms? ›

In a 5Rhythms class, there are no steps to follow. You move as the music moves you. You can dance fast or slow, big or small. You are guided through the music with soft instructions for breath and to focus on being in your body.

A. It is suggested that you dress comfortably in clothing that you don't mind sweating in and allows you a full range of motion.
