SUMMARY: After beginning the season with Japan's Yomiuri Giants, Kapler re-signed with the Red Sox July 15 and joined the club following a D.L. stint and rehab assignment on July 30...appeared in 36 games for Boston before his season ended when he ruptured his left Achilles' tendon September 14 in Toronto...finished with a .247 average, a home run and 9 RBI.
