In the beginning (and still to this day) we‘ve always asked ourselves, “what can we do differently to make it better next time?“ By doing this after every project we’ve mastered the art of photographing food and developed a process that consistently delivers mouth-watering results.
There are several elements that go into what we do. Passion, experience, talent, and having an eye for what looks good are all very important. We have high standards for what we produce, and the best way to meet these standards are all part of our 5-Step Premium-Look Methodology.
Experience - Steven Domjancic, our primary photographer and creative director, has a proven track record that speaks for itself. Steven is passionate about his work and has earned the reputation for having “an eye” for what looks good. Steven has produced content for brands such as Chapman’s Ice Cream, McCormick, Chicken Farmers of Canada, Billy Bee, Thai Kitchen, Sunrise Soya, Landmark Cinemas, Cineplex, Frank’s Red Hot and many more.
Talented Food Stylists - Our team consists of some of the very best food stylists in the country and we always work with the person who’s the best fit for the job. If we’re shooting ice cream, the stylist you’ll get will be an ice cream specialist. If we’re shooting pizza, the stylist you’ll get will be a pizza specialist and so on.
Set Styling - We source or create surfaces and backgrounds depending on what’s needed for a specific look and feel. We gather the right props and ingredients that tell a story. We take colour palettes and plating seriously because they make a huge difference in whether the food stands out or blends into the background.
Beautiful Lighting - We control the light in our studio to keep every shot consistent. The angle of light to make sure the sauce glistens is an important detail when it comes to shooting food. That’s why we have a variety of lights and light modifiers that help us achieve the best results.

2. The Plan (Pre-Production)
In this step we arrange everything that’s needed to execute on shoot day.

3. The Shoot (Shoot Day)
Shoot day(s) has/have arrived, in this step we execute the plan.
What you get:
Put your feet up and get ready to have an amazing day!
Complete flexibility. You have the option of attending in person or viewing remotely in the comfort of your own work environment. Pure bliss.
Full day (up to 10 hours) Photographer/Videographer, camera, lenses, lighting and all equipment required for the shoot, lighting/camera assistant, food prep & styling, studio/location,
Your Responsibilities:
Being available
Approving the content. This can be done by attending in person, or remotely via Zoom.
Our Responsibilities:
Following the shot list and executing the plan
Capturing all the content in the shot list
Providing a large monitor for clients to view and approve content as it’s being captured (client attends shoot in person) or providing live feed via Zoom Screemshare for remote approval
4. The Edit (Post Production)
In this step, the content captured on Shoot Day is cut, clipped, cropped, and coloured to meet project requirements.
What you get:
Link to view and select proofs for retouching (photos)
Link to view each draft leading up to a Final Cut
Your Responsibilities:
Selecting the images for retouching & giving final approval
Our Responsibilities:
Uploading proofs to online viewing platform to be selected (photo)
Editing, colour correction, adding music and any other digital assets, then uploading to Vimeo for feedback, 2 revision stages (video)
5. The Delivery
At this stage everything has been approved, all that’s left to do is send you the final photo or video files.
What you get:
Bathe in glory as your eyes are rewarded with the beautiful visual content that started as an idea in your mind and became a reality.
