Brimfield Flea Market to have live music, wine, outdoor dining and more (2024)

All the fields at the Brimfield Flea Market are opening for the first time since the start of the COVID pandemic. But it won’t just be rows of vendors, there will also be live music, special wine, outdoor dining and more.

Some fields at the Brimfield Flea Market opened Tuesday. Majority of the fields are opening Wednesday with the flea market going until Sunday.

Only one field, the Brimfield Auction Acres, also sometimes known as J&J, reopened during the May show earlier this year after there were continued restrictions due to the pandemic.

“Our phones have been going crazy,” Rusty Corriveau, field owner of Brimfield Auction Acres, told MassLive regarding the May show. “[They] are just very grateful and happy that they can hopefully make some money and sell some of their antiques.”

That continues to be true as more fields reopen this month.

“Vendor registrations are coming in faster than we can process them,” said Klia Ververidis, owner of Brimfield Antique Shows Hertan’s field. “Several new fresh faces will be joining the seasoned veterans this July including Ryan Picirillo of Memory Hole Vintage who will be selling out of his converted 40-foot school bus traveling show booth.”

She said the July show typically has less vendors than the other shows but that’s not true this year.

“I am so excited to be a part of it,” Picirillo said. “We’re gonna have a blast.”

Some of the new faces among the vendors are a younger crowd, which were attracted to the flea market when it went virtual last year.

“We’re reaching a wider audience. The physical show has been getting smaller and smaller every year because people are aging out. We needed to find a way to expand our audience,” Ververidis said. “[Vendors] are coming in from the online show but then they’re transitioning onto the field.”

The online show, Ververidis said, was born out of necessity due to the pandemic and not being able to open in 2020. But it’s continuing even though they are also in person this month.

“It ended up being so successful and so wanted by people that it just seems like a natural fit to do the live and in person hybrid show once we got going,” she said. “It helps the people who can’t come. They can participate from home, and hopefully that’ll inspire them to make the trip out here at some point.”

She said it also helps the vendors make more sales.

“Maybe they have something and the right person isn’t here on the field but they’re in Ohio, they can still get that get the item sold and to that person,” she said. “I think it’s a win win for everyone.”

The online show can be viewed on brimfieldlive.com, rubylane.com and on the Brimfield Antique Shows Facebook page.

It’s not the only unique part of the show this year. A number of fields are adding social aspects to the show.

“The selling business part of it but also the social part of it is huge for a lot of people,” Ververidis said. “We wanted to create more opportunities for everyone to interact with each other.”

There will be live music at the Brimfield Winery throughout the week, which is located on Brimfield Auction Acres.

This will allow “people to take a breather or celebrate that perfect find,” said Kate Corriveau.

There will also be a new wine, which is the first red blend under the “Brimfield Rush” label. Kate said the new label was made so it could be “extra special” for this year.

Apple Barn Cafe has been granted an outdoor liquor license for its newly built outdoor dining area.

“Many of our vendors are offering industrial items as they still are in demand,” said field owner Suzanne Collins. “There is an excitement in the air to finally get back to business.”

Brimfield Antique Shows Hertan’s field is also hosting “a Studio Vintage 4 Disco Dance Party featuring a DJ spinning disco tunes and some tasty treats.” The event will be Friday at 6 p.m.

Although for some, it’s just about getting “back into business as normal.”

“It’s like coming home,” Mark Marino of Seacoast Antiques and Estates Services told MassLive during the May show. “This place is like my second home and coming here and being able to provide people with these wonderful items has been phenomenal.”
